Industrial Managed Ethernet Switches
Last Updated 6 years ago

Fiber link issues have been solved doing any of the following:

1) Ind. Ethernet Switches all have their fiber ports default configuration set at 'Auto'. Some link issues are resolved by forcing the fiber link speed to 1000M (for GbE SFP) or to 100M (for 100M SFP or multi-rate SFP).
2) Try a different SFP module. Some cheaper modules do not strictly follow MSA and may not be recognized by our switches. We do not lock out any brand SFP, but they must be compliant.
3) Follow normal troubleshooting procedures to check fiber connectors, patch cables and SFP modules.
4) Copper SFP are non-standard. We have found that the copper SFP supporting 10/100/1000M may be more compatible. Purchase CTC Union brand copper SFP or check with case-by-case support that may require our firmware tuning to support these non-standard SFP.
