FMC-1000S Fiber Won't Link
Last Updated 6 years ago

The model FMC1000S has LFP (Link Fault Pass-thru) enabled by default and it does not have a DIP switch, meaning you cannot disable LFP.

FMC-1000S MUST have both active fiber (SFP) and active UTP (RJ45) connections or the fiber link will not come up. So, if only an active fiber is connected to our converter, without connecting any UTP signal, the fiber link will NOT come up.

So, connect both fiber AND UTP then the link will come up. The fiber port supports 1000Base-FX only, while the copper UTP port supports 10/100/1000Base-T with auto negotiation.

The core of the converter is a store & forward switch, which allows connection between gigabit fiber and giga or Fast Ethernet copper.

Additional: Check and make sure a MSA 1.25Gbps SFP is being used in the FMC-1000S, as it only supports Gigabit Ethernet for the fiber port.
